White Plains Children’s Center, Inc. is a special outreach ministry of White Plains United Methodist Church in Cary. The Center created a scholarship endowment. The assets of the endowment are invested in partnership with UMF. Initial funding for the endowment was made possible through a generous donation of a member at White Plains who chose to remain anonymous. This gift and future gifts to the endowment will enable the Center to provide for an increased number of child care needs.
The Center has offered tuition scholarships through it Scholarship program for many years. This assistance will continue and be enhanced by the new endowment and enable the Center to fulfill its mission “to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where children with special and typical needs can grow and learn together in acceptance of one another.” The Center offers programs for children 1-5 years of age, including those with developmental disabilities.
